Leslie-Anne & Kevin wanted the timeless feeling of a European inspired wedding, in an intimate, non-traditional reception setting. With the planning and creative design-oriented approach from Raven Alexandra Signature Weddings, their vision was perfectly realized.
In the late morning, Kevin added the final personal details to his Indochino suit, and then took a moment to toast each of his groomsmen for being part of his life, and being beside him on such an important day. It was a very special moment that was the start to many more throughout the day.
Once arriving at ‘The Study’ studio, I was greeted by Leslie-Anne's beautiful bridesmaids and Raven, who had already been working on styling the flat-lay details, with a focus on the beautiful stationery by Paper Ocelot, and delicate fresh blooms by Creative Edge Flowers. The toffee, blush, and neutral tones set the tone for the day ahead.
What can usually be a very busy and anxious part of the morning, Leslie-Anne was feeling at ease having the final touches of hairspray and makeup completed by the very talented team at Blush and Coco. This gorgeous bride then slipped into her feather light Daalarna gown from Blush & Raven Bridal Boutique before a first look with her mother and father. I love that they wanted to save space in the morning for this memorable moment as a family. It was hard to not be emotional seeing the stunning Leslie-Anne in her whimsical gown with romantic lace details, plunging neckline, and the unexpected open back with pearls gracefully falling down her spine. When it was time for the private first look, surrounded by the slowly changing autumn leaves, Kevin was awestruck by his stunning bride. It was a very sweet and exciting moment for them before having a more public audience with their bridal party and wandering the streets of downtown Calgary.
As their evening ceremony approached, AMPM Limousine services expertly weaved through the busy streets to bring the wedding party to the Italian inspired Bonterra Trattoria where the rest of the evening would unfold. Guests were greeted by music filled air as Jenny Crane played the electric cello accompanied by tracks laid by Pez Productions, and a romantic display of light roses and greens cascading down the outdoor fireplace where the bride and groom would officially become husband and wife.
Following their first kiss and a standing ovation, guests were guided into the venue space for an Italian inspired signature cocktail, an Aperol Spritz. They made their way to the elevated cocktail style reception with Italian classics being served throughout the space. With the addition of modern yet timeless bar stools, boucle loungers, velvet throw pillows, and gold accents from Modern Rentals, the candlelit room created a perfect atmosphere for sentimental toasts, an elegant first dance, and a first sip from the champagne tower to begin a night of celebration for this incredible couple, and the radiant life ahead of them.
